Most of the people in this picture were life-long residents of Darke
County. I guessed at the names for everyone in this picture, based on their
birth years. Seated; Laura Ellen, Edward F., father Milton Moore Jefferis,
Mary Jane, mother Louisa Chenoweth Jefferis and Charles. Standing; Homer,
Flora Mae, Elmer, Emma C. Estella.
My wife tried to ID the folks, independent of my work. She was less certain
about my ID of Elmer & Charles, and she thinks I may have reversed the
identification of Mary Jane and Emma C. Estella. This is also my weakest ID,
but I am going with my original thoughts.
I figure the picture was taken in 1889 or 1890, based on the appearance of
the two youngest. Dick
