The headstones below are those of Samuel Longenecker and his wife, Anna
Shank, great-great grandparents of the submitter, Keith Longenecker.
Regarding the condition of the Coppess Cemetery, Keith writes: "... the
Coppess cemetery was in bad state of repair when I saw it [1997]. I had
to uncover Samuel's headstone where it was buried four inches deep under
the earth. The fences are in a poor state of repair and signs of cattle
were everywhere. It will be lost if nothing is done." |
